Sinceramente non avrei mai immaginato di trascrivere questa meravigliosa musica di Max Bruch per viola e organo se non avessi avuto l’incentivo di mio figlio violista Giovanni al quale questo lavoro è dedicato.Inizialmente, osservado l’arrangiamento per viola e pianoforte dall’originale per viola e orchestra, capii subito che la cosa sarebbe stata difficile e complicata.Infatti attesi l’ispirazione giusta per un anno intero ma poi,  in soli due giorni. riuscii a realizzarla (28-30 Maggio 1998), grazie ad una improvvisa ispirazione soddisfando così la richiesta di mio figlio.
Sarebbe meglio suonare questa trascrizione su uno strumento a tre tastiere e pedaliera così l’interpretazione potrebbe essere più facile riguardo ai cambiamenti di colore. Certamente la viola potrà essere accompagnata anche da un organo di più modeste proporzioni ma in questo caso si dovranno usare più combinazioni libere..
Gli effetti come cresc. e dim. saranno possibili specialmente con l’uso delle casse espressive ma bisogna dosarli con buon senso affinché l’effetto non risulti volgare ed innaturale.

I never had imagined to transcribe this wonderful music of Max. Bruch for viola and organ withouth the incentive of my son Giovanni.So I dedicate to him this musical work.
Firstely seeing the arrengemet for viola and piano from the original for viola and orchestra I understood the the work would have been very hard and long.I waited for a whole year but suddendly  the ispiration blew into my mind so I realized this trascription in a short time..Since many months before my son Giovanni commissioned this request and between 28 and 30 May (1998) I ended the trascription.
It had better to play this arrangeament on a great organ with 3 keyboards and pedalboard so the interpretation will be more easy and simple about of changements of colours.Certainly it twill be possibile to accompany the viola with a small organ but in this case it will be necessary to do frequents.  changements of the registration with free combinations.
Effects of cresc. and dim. are possibile where you can use the expressif manuals but it is necessary to not  excess  to not  fall into a vulgar and innatural way to play.
